Accounting I & II

These courses will give students a thorough background in basic accounting procedures used for business or personal use. Topics covered include:

  • Journalizing
  • Posting
  • Financial statements
  • Taxes
  • Payroll accounting
  • Merchandising accounting
  • Specialized journalizing
  • Ten-column worksheets
  • Corporate financial statements

Upon the successful completion of Accounting I, students may elect to continue with an independent study of Accounting II which covers specialized accounting procedures including: cash funds; plant assets and depreciation; uncollectable accounts; inventories; notes payable; notes receivable; and partnership accounting. The accounting procedures studied provide a sound background for either employment or preparation in studying business courses in college.
